LIBRARY CLOSED FOR ESSENTIAL WORK ON THE ROOF DURING MARCH 2026

Kegworth Community Library (KCL) has now been run and managed for 10 years by dedicated volunteers and Trustees as a Community Managed Library .

We are grateful to Leicestershire County Council, which is supporting KCL by carrying out essential repairs to replace the felt finish and installing insulation to the flat roof.  To allow the work to take place safely, the library will close on the 2nd March and re-open (subject to the weather) at the end of March.

The building and car park will be closed during the work, with no access to the 'Book Drop' box at the entrance.

From the 9th of February the book return date for borrowed books will be automatically extended to the 13th of April (after Easter). During the closure period, LCC library books can also be returned to any LCC and Community managed library, with Hathern, Castle Donnington and Loughborough closest to Kegworth.

If you are a library member (free to join) you can also borrow e-books, e-audio books, magazines and newspapers using the 'Borrowbox' app - ask in the library.

The KCL Bookshop will be at the Farmer's Market on the Sutton Bonington University Campus on Wednesday 4th March - 11am to 3pm

The library will re-open for loans, our bookshop and Community activities as follows:-

Monday 30th March, 2pm- Bingo

Tuesday 31st March 2pm- 4.30pm for book loans and a fabulous selection of second-hand books at £2 and children's books at 50p (buy some in February to get you through the closure). Free use of Wi-fi & Computers, with small charges for printing and laminating. KCL also sells postage stamps.

Tuesday 31st March, Knit and Natter - 2pm to 3.30pm

 Wednesday 1st April - EmbarasSing  - 7pm  to 8.15pm

Saturday 4th April - Easter Market at the Library - 10am  to 2pm

 Thursday 9th April - Craft and Chatter  - 7pm to 9pm

Saturday 18th April - Indian inspired Crafts - 1pm to 3pm

Do drop in and see what's on offer, get a free cup of tea or coffee in April to welcome you back to the library and maybe help complete a Jigsaw. We rely on the support of our volunteers and visitors to keep the doors open and the lights (and heating) on.

You can also support the Library by buying a ticket at £1.00 per week for the NWL Community Lottery and choosing KCL as your good cause. Sign up at https://www.nwlcommunitylottery.co.uk/
